Payment and Account Safety with GoTap
Protect your GoTap login PIN, transaction PIN and verification codes. Check the recipient and amount before authorising a payment. When receiving money, confirm it in your own account rather than relying on another person’s screenshot.
Before you authorise a payment
Check the recipient name, amount, any displayed fee and total debit on the review screen. If something is wrong, cancel or correct it before confirming.
GoTap AI prepares payment details for you to review. It does not send money on its own. For Near Payments, check the person’s name as well as their distance.
Protect access to your account
Keep your login PIN, transaction PIN and verification codes private. Use a screen lock and install GoTap only from the official app stores. Do not send a PIN or code in an email, screenshot, call or chat.
Biometric sign-in and payment authentication settings are available in Privacy & Security. Use the options supported by your device and app.
Check payment in your own account
Before completing a sale, check your GoTap transaction record and the amount received. A customer’s screenshot alone is not proof that the payment reached your business.
If a payment result is unclear after authorisation, check its status before trying again. Keep its reference for support.
Lost phone or unrecognised payment?
Contact GoTap support promptly from a device you trust if your phone is lost or someone may have access to your account. Email hello@usegotap.com.
For an unrecognised transaction, open its details and use Report Issue. Include the transaction reference and what happened. Keep your PIN and verification codes out of the message.
Common questions
Will GoTap support need my PIN or verification code?
Do not share your PIN or verification code with anyone. Keep them out of support emails, calls and screenshots.
Does a payment screenshot prove I have been paid?
No. Confirm the transaction and amount in your own GoTap account before completing the sale.
What if I forget my login PIN?
Use the login PIN reset option from the sign-in screen. Follow the checks in the app and contact support if you cannot finish.
