Pay Nearby GoTap Users with Near Payments
Near Payments helps you find available GoTap users nearby by name and distance. Choose the right person, check the payment details and confirm. It finds participating GoTap users, rather than everyone around you.
Find the right person nearby
Open Near Payments and follow the availability and location prompts shown in the app. Find the person you intend to pay and check their name. Distance helps you identify someone nearby; it does not replace checking the recipient.
If the person is not listed, ask them to check their Near Payments availability. You can use their GoTap QR or send to a Nigerian bank account instead.
Review before you send
Selecting a nearby person does not by itself send money. Check the recipient, amount and any displayed fee before confirming the payment.
If the connection drops after you confirm, check Transactions before making another payment. Contact support with the transaction reference if the result is still unclear.
Control when you are available
Turn your availability on or off in Near Payments. Nearby discovery is limited to available GoTap users. Turn availability off when you do not want to be discoverable through Near Payments.
Common questions
Does Near Payments find anyone nearby?
No. It shows available GoTap users. Someone who is not participating may not appear.
Do I need their account number?
You can choose an available GoTap user in Near Payments without entering their bank account number. Always check the recipient before confirming.
Can I switch Near Payments off?
Yes. Turn your availability off in Near Payments.
